The Biden White House is unhappy with Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House. Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary, gave Pelosi a slap to the face on Monday after she claimed that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention could reinstitute the eviction ban in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pelosi, who did not extend the ban in the House of Representatives, clearly tries to spread the blame.

“The CDC has the power to extend the eviction moratorium. As they double down on masks, why wouldn’t they extend the moratorium in light of delta variant?” Pelosi tweeted on Sunday.

“It is a moral imperative to keep people from being put out in the street which also contributes to the public health emergency. The virus is still a threat, the moratorium must be extended and the funds Congress allocated to assist renters and landlords must be spent,” she said.

Pelosi’s claim to be a spokesman for the CDC is totally bogus, considering that in June the Supreme Court ruled the moratorium was invalid and that Congress must approve an extension by July 31st. This they didn’t, thanks to Pelosi.

Psaki made sure to fire back at Pelosi’s bogus statement on Monday, telling her that the CDC has no way of extending the moratorium.

Psaki asserted that CDC officials “have been unable to find legal authority for a new, targeted eviction moratorium,” and there won’t be an “emergency extension.”

“Our team is redoubling efforts to identify all available legal authorities to provide necessary protections,” Psaki said. “In the meantime, the President will continue to do everything in his power to help renters from eviction.”

The American people seem to understand that Pelosi is the one to blame.

Over the weekend, Speaker Pelosi was served with an “eviction notice” by activists at her home in San Francisco after she failed to extend the CDC’s eviction moratorium.

The Biden administration extended last month the eviction moratorium until July 31st, but the House did not extend it beyond that date.

“The House adjourned Friday for summer recess without passing legislation to extend a nationwide ban on evictions that is set to expire Saturday, prompting outrage from the progressive Squad and an overnight protest at the Capitol,” Fox News reported“About 40 activists headed to Pelosi’s home on Saturday to tape an ‘eviction notice’ on her door to remind the speaker that millions of Americans will be facing eviction starting this weekend while she sleeps comfortably in her posh home.”

Christin Evans, an activist who was among the protesters outside Pelosi’s San Francisco house, told Fox News she wanted to show Pelosi how out of touch she is “with the people that are faced with a situation [of expulsion].”

“We wanted to essentially send her a message that we want her to reconvene Congress to take a vote [to extend] the eviction moratorium,” Evans said.
