Zarifa Ghafari was Afghanistan’s first female mayor. She fled the country in a bag, as the Taliban tried to kill her.
Ghafari, who told reporters she was waiting with her family in her house for the Taliban to kill her, has survived three assassination attempts.
“The first ever female mayor of an Afghan city, 27-year-old Zarifa Ghafari, who was appointed mayor of Maidan Shahr, the capital city of Wardak province, in 2018, said that she was just sitting with her family waiting for Taliban soldiers to come kill her,” Rajita Bagga previously reported on Twitter.

Ghafari managed to flee the country with her family while President Joe Biden was away on vacation.
Check out what the Gateway Pundit reported:
On Wednesday news broke that Zarifa and her family were able to escape Afghanistan.
She hid in the footwell of their car with a bag over her head. This allowed her family to make it through the Taliban checkpoints.
The Taliban came to her house and beat her guards. But she was able to escape.
No one came to rescue Zarifa. She had to rescue herself from the terrorists.
Zarifa Ghafari cried on Wednesday as she spoke about the horrors she faced leaving her beloved home.
