Dem Sentenced to Prison in Vote Buying Scheme!

Jerry Trabona, a former Amite police chief, and Kris Hart, a current councilman, are alleged to have conspired to buy votes as well as many incidents of doing so.

Due to their involvement in a vote-buying conspiracy, two Democrats from Louisiana received a 12-month prison sentence. In exchange for their votes in a national election, the two Democrats were bribing potential voters.

Despite the federal government ignoring the majority of the electoral crimes committed by dishonest Democrats, it appears that this remains a crime.

According to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release, former Democratic Amite City, Louisiana police chief Jerry Trabona and city councilwoman Kristian “Kris” Hart were punished with one year in prison on Wednesday for breaking federal election laws after it was found that they were purchasing votes.

According to a DOJ press release, Trabona, 73, and Hart, 50, both were sentenced to one year in prison after an investigation by the FBI’s New Orleans Field Office revealed that Trabona and Hart worked to hire people to locate potential voters, transport the voters, and offer compensation to the voters in exchange for their cooperation. In addition to the one-year prison term, Trabona was also given a $10,000 fine and another unnamed conspirator received a four-month prison term.

Providing sample ballots with the desired candidate’s name and number allowed Hart and Trabona to successfully purchase votes, according to The Heritage Foundation. Hart, Trabona, and other top contenders were on the ballots.
