Jen Psaki, the White House Press Secretary, did not explicitly respond to concerns concerning the Biological Threat Reduction biolaboratories in Ukraine, which are sponsored by the United States. On Thursday, however, she resorted to Twitter to criticize the media for focusing on conspiracy theories backed by Russia and China.

On Twitter, Jen Psaki remarked, “We take note of Russia’s misleading allegations regarding claimed US biological weapons facilities and chemical weapons development in Ukraine.” Chinese officials have also echoed these conspiratorial beliefs.

She further added that all of those are preposterous adding that those kind of misleading information are Russians’ tactics throughout the years. She assured that the House has debunked these types of false information.

Psaki stated that “The United States is in full compliance with its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and the Biological Weapons Convention and does not develop or possess such weapons anywhere. It’s Russia that has a long and well-documented track record of using chemical weapons, including in attempted assassinations and poisoning of Putin’s political enemies like Alexey Navalny.”

John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesman, addressed the issue on Wednesday.

The words of Victoria Nuland, the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, heightened Russia’s suspicions regarding the US-funded biolaboratory program in Ukraine.

On February 24, Ukraine’s president issued a presidential order to sanitize the facilities in the event of a military occupation.

There is almost no proof that a biolaboratory program in Ukraine that was supported by the US was working on bioweapons. However, the media’s exaggerated response isn’t helping to assuage Americans’ fears.
