Seven people were killed in a mass shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia on Tuesday night. It is the second deadly mass shooting in recent days, following upon a “non-binary” gunman killing 5 people at a gay night club in Colorado Springs, Colorado on late Saturday.
In the case of the Virginia murders, a Chesapeake police responded to an active shooter call at the Walmart at approximately 10:12 p.m.. According to Chesapeake police spokesman Leo Kosinski, police officers coordinated with a tactical team to enter the store, where they found multiple bodies.
The gunman was among the at least seven deaths verified by the City of Chesapeake, which issued a warning that the police investigation was still underway.

The tweet stated, “We’re only a few hours into the response, so we don’t have all the answers yet. Chesapeake Police continue their investigation into the active shooter event at Walmart on Sam’s Circle. We do know there are multiple fatalities plus injuries and the shooter is confirmed dead.”
Andre Bing, the manager of the shop, has been identified as the suspect.

The Virginia attack follows upon a shooting at the “Club Q” gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which left five people dead and 17 injured.
The mass shooting at Club Q gave rise to widespread media speculation in the United States that the attacker was a homophobe who had committed a hate crime.
