TMZ quotes law enforcement officials as saying that they responded to a cardiac arrest call at the given address. Who called emergency services is currently unknown.

According to the sources, there were no drugs or evidence of wrongdoing discovered at the location.

In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department told The Post: “We responded to the 1800 block of Blue Sail Rd for a death investigation on a male 4:10 p.m. this afternoon. He was in his 50s.”

Perry, who had never been married and was father to no offspring, had a history of substance misuse.

He opened up about his decades-long battle with addiction in a memoir titled “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,” which was published last year.

Perry attempted to repair the damage to his stomach lining caused by alcohol and narcotic usage by checking himself into treatment 15 times and undergoing 14 procedures.

The actor stated that in 2018, he nearly died from a stomach perforation. He was in a coma for two weeks and stayed in the hospital for five. And for nine months, he had to live with a colostomy bag.

“The doctors told my family that I had a 2 percent chance to live,” Perry stated during a promotional interview for his book last year. “I was put on a thing called an ECMO machine, which does all the breathing for your heart and your lungs. And that’s called a Hail Mary. No one survives that.”

Perry said last year that he had spent over $9 million trying to overcome his addiction over the years. Since May of 2021, the star has not used drugs or alcohol.

Earlier this week, the star shared an eerie final photo to his Instagram account which showed him in a jacuzzi.

“Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman,” the actor captioned the photo.

On Sunday, October 22, photographers saw him leaving a Los Angeles restaurant with companions for the last time.

Perry rose to fame playing fan-favorite Chandler on the iconic sitcom “Friends,” which ran from 1994 – 2004.

He was cast on the show at the age of 24, around the time his alcohol addiction started to manifest.

After a jet ski accident in 1997, the star was administered opioids, and he became addicted to them very rapidly.
