A Tennessee family, consisting of a couple and their two children, is in search of a new residence after a powerful tornado devastated their community. The tornado tragically swept up their 4-month-old child, but miraculously, the infant was discovered alive in a nearby tree after the calamity.

Sydney Moore, along with her boyfriend and children, was inside their Clarksville home last Saturday when an EF-3 tornado struck Montgomery County, resulting in six fatalities and over two dozen injuries.

Moore recounted that the tornado, causing devastation to the couple’s mobile home and possessions, lifted their 4-month-old child, who miraculously survived the harrowing incident.

“Something in me just told me to run and jump on top of my son. The moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed.”

Reflecting on the events of that evening, Moore shared with the media that her boyfriend observed the tornado engulfing their residence just before it was torn apart, and the infant’s bassinet was lifted into the chaotic swirl of the storm.

“The roof came off first, the tip of the tornado came down and picked up the bassinet with our baby. He was the first thing to go up.”

Reflecting on the events of that evening, Moore shared with the media that her boyfriend observed the tornado engulfing their residence just before it was torn apart, and the infant’s bassinet was lifted into the chaotic swirl of the storm.

“He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles,” Moore recollected.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Moore stated that she and her family managed to escape from the wreckage and commenced a search for their baby, all the while grappling with the fear of a tragic outcome. After approximately 10 minutes of searching, Moore and her boyfriend were relieved to discover the baby alive, nestled in a fallen tree amidst the rain.

In the aftermath of the tragic incident, Moore and her family found themselves with minimal personal possessions. However, the community has evidently come together to aid the young couple and their children, offering support in the form of formula, diapers, and other essential necessities.

A relative of Moore has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist the family in rebuilding and acquiring essential items for themselves and their children. Caitlyn, Moore’s sister, explained in the GoFundMe description that Moore and her children sustained minor cuts and bruises in the aftermath of the tornado that demolished their home. The GoFundMe listing also noted that Moore’s boyfriend endured a broken arm/shoulder during the incident.
