Raymond Mattia, a member of the Tohono O’odham Nation, was fatally shot by border patrol agents on his reservation in Southern Arizona. As per KVOA’s report, Raymond contacted the U.S. Border Patrol agents upon discovering that unauthorized immigrants had trespassed into his yard.
A relative, who chose to remain anonymous, informed KVOA that Raymond called for assistance because multiple individuals had entered his property illegally and he wanted help in removing them. When the border patrol agents arrived at the location, the family member stated that Raymond came out of his house and was shot and killed shortly thereafter.

Currently, officials from the Federal Customs and Border Protection have acknowledged the occurrence of the deadly shooting, but they have not provided any additional details. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
Officials from the Federal Customs and Border Protection have confirmed that agents from the Ajo border patrol station were implicated in a deadly shooting on the Tohono O’odham reservation near Ajo, which took place around 10pm on Thursday.
Ned Norris Jr., the tribal chairman released a statement on Sunday stating that the shooting transpired in the Meneger’s Dam community of the Tohono O’odham Nation and identified the individual who was tragically killed.

According to a report from KVOA, a television station based in Tucson, it was stated that Mattia contacted the border patrol as he had noticed multiple migrants who had entered his yard without permission. He sought assistance in removing them from his property.
