On Friday, Paul Pelosi attacker David DePape dialed a local Fox news station and left a strange message that he described as a “important message.”
DePape’s call came just hours after video footage of him hitting Mr. Pelosi over the head with a hammer surfaced.
DePape is currently facing state charges of attempted murder and elder abuse, as well as federal charges of kidnapping, after allegedly breaking into former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s home and attacking her husband, Paul, with a hammer.
DePape told the local station, “you’re welcome,” for the violent attack.
DePape made it clear that he did not want to jeopardize his case, and he went on to say that “liberty isn’t dying, it’s being killed systematically and deliberately.”
The “people killing it have names and addresses, so I got their names and addresses so I could pay them a little visit … have a heart to heart chat about their bad behavior,” he said.
“I want to apologize to everyone. I messed up. What I did was really bad. I’m so sorry I didn’t get more of them. It’s my own fault. No one else is to blame. I should have come better prepared,” he said.
DePape apologized for not continuing the attack.
Pelosi was in his underwear, holding a drink, when David DePape smacked him with a hammer.
